Dosages
Er zijn verschillende doseringen van finasteride, dutasteride en minoxidil.
Finasteride
The usual (most used) dose of finasteride is 1mg. However, some people use 1.25mg because they were used to dividing a 5mg tablet into four, resulting in a 1.25mg tablet. Regenboog Apotheek also offers 0,5mg in addition to the 1mg and 1.25mg versions, so these can also be ordered. It is known that a higher dose of finasteride does not lead to increased hair growth. Therefore, there is no proven effect that suggests taking higher doses is beneficial.
Minoxidil
Regenboog Apotheek compounds 1mg, 1,25mg and 2,5mg tablets of minoxidil. If desired, a double dose can be taken daily. This may lead to better results but may also increase side effects. This is up to the GP and patient.
Dutasteride
There are several common dosages for dutasteride, each with varying results. For example, 0,1mg or 0,15mg or 0,25mg or 0,5mg can be chosen. The effect of the dosage on hair growth has been published in an American study.[1].

The study shows not only the effectiveness of dutasteride but also an increase in hair growth as the dosage increases. However, the increase in hair growth decreases as the dosage increases. There is no linear relationship.
